MMS and MHS Dance Teams Honored at Cardinals Game with Pregame Performance

The Mattoon Middle School Purrfections and Mattoon High School JV/Varsity Wavettes were honored at a Cardinal’s Game on September 7. All three teams performed at a pregame event in the Ford Plaza of Busch Stadium. The performance was broadcast throughout all of Cardinal Nation on the screens in every restaurant and within Busch Stadium. The dance teams sold tickets to raise money for their competition costumes. Each team will be competing with three routines this season. The top two sellers, Micheala and Sydney Starwalt, along with coaches Breezie Artis and Malia Smith, were able to go onto the field for a pregame ceremony directly before the National Anthem.
